DIXMOOR, Ill. — After years of water issues in suburban Dixmoor, a project is underway to address the village's water infrastructure.The Dixmoor Watermain Infrastructure Improvement Project is set to break ground Monday morning. An official event is planned to mark the occasion with several officials scheduled to take part including Cook County Board of Commissioners President Toni Preckwinkle, U.S. Representatives Robin Kelly and Jonathan Jackson, Dixmoor Mayor Fitzgerald Roberts, and Lt. AUSTIN (KXAN) — Following the "TxTag Troubles" investigative project, many drivers who reached out to KXAN got their issues resolved, and a new state law will soon address one of the the top complaints about Texas' tolling systems. Contractors hired by Warren County are set to start replacing and rehabilitating culverts across Quaker Road - 18 in all. Two men were shot inside a car traveling along Hampden Avenue near Parker Road Sunday night, according to Aurora police.The men were hospitalized with serious injuries, and a third man in the car suffered minor injuries, the police said in a posting on Twitter.The shooting happened as the vehicle was moving, police said. They closed off access to Hampden near the intersection with Parker Road late Sunday. Ample rain falling as afternoon thunderstorms roll over metro Denver and Colorado’s Front Range urban corridor Monday may lead to flooding, according to the National Weather Service.Weather service officials have issued a flood watch, effective through midnight, warning storms could cause flooding across eastern Colorado, including Denver, the mountain foothills, high plains, and Colorado Springs. Recent rain has saturated much of the state to the point soils cannot retain water. Flooding risks were highest on the plains east of Interstate 25 encompassing the Palmer Divide between Denver and Colorado Springs along with Elbert, Lincoln, Weld, and El Paso counties.
