ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Great Dane is heading to the dawg pound. UAlbany tight end Thomas Greaney is heading to the NFL, signing as an undrafted free agent with the Cleveland Browns over the weekend. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! Greaney told NEWS10 that a couple years ago, he thought about walking away from the game he loves. After talking to head coach Greg Gattuso and some of the assistant coaches, Greaney decided to come back last season. He racked up 50 catches for 693 yards and nine touchdowns, opening the door to the NFL.Greaney says the doubt he had makes the moment more special. "It was surreal," said Greaney. "No matter what happened, it was more about celebrating, for me, getting to that point. If you would have told me when I started playing football I'd have a chance to play in the National Football League, that's just crazy." Greaney isn't looking to change his approach as he takes on this new journey. "...

Ask Amy: I wish I could undo the surprise that tore our family apart

Published Fri, 07 Feb 2025 22:44:17 GMT

Dear Amy: You frequently encourage people to pursue their DNA heritage. My two siblings found out that their biological father is entirely unknown. Knowing this has definitively destroyed the relationship between the siblings.I honestly feel as though there is a point at which knowing or understanding true parenthood is harmful to relationships. This ultimately undermines the idea of familial bonds.I would like to offer my entire disapproval and negation of your opinions in this matter. I ultimately respect your viewpoints, but if the greater overall good is to benefit from ignorance, as it relates to family relationships, I do feel as though ignorance is bliss.I wish I could turn back the clock.Wanting IgnoranceRelated ArticlesAdvice | Ask Amy: She’s not my mom, and her ‘compliments’ rub me the wrong way Advice | Ask Amy: My dad is demanding I tell lies about our family Advice | Ask Amy: My fiancee’s family says IR...

Harriette Cole: I always take pictures, but these might get me uninvited

Published Fri, 07 Feb 2025 22:44:17 GMT

DEAR HARRIETTE: I went to a lovely party hosted by a prominent, successful couple. In the past, they have not wanted photos to be shared from their events, but this time they didn’t say anything. They even had a professional photographer there, and they allowed everyone to take pictures with their cameras and smartphones. Now that the event is over, I want to post pictures like I always do after I have enjoyed myself. But I’m not sure if it would be appropriate to do so. I don’t want to offend my friend or get uninvited because I broke an unwritten rule. What should I do?What Is Private?DEAR WHAT IS PRIVATE?: Go to the source. Reach out to your friends and ask if it is OK for you to post pictures from the party.Don’t second-guess yourself. Be sure before you post anything from this private event. If they do not respond, do not post. This can be hard to honor during the age of instant posting on social media, but it is safer to keep these images private until y...

Is LeBron James still the biggest threat to the Warriors’ season? Not after Game 1

Published Fri, 07 Feb 2025 22:44:17 GMT

SAN FRANCISCO – Turns out, trying to contain LeBron James might not be the biggest challenge the Golden State Warriors face in their second-round playoff series with the Los Angeles Lakers.Anthony Davis had a playoff game for the ages Tuesday, etching his name alongside some of the storied franchise’s all-time greats, as he had 30 points, 23 rebounds and five assists to lead the Lakers to a 117-112 win over the Warriors in Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinal at Chase Center.“For us, it’s a treat for us to be able to have such a dynamic player that can not only go out and get you 30 and 20,” James said, “but also command the paint defensively.”Davis did just in the final two minutes in the game’s most crucial sequence. After the Warriors went on a 14-0 run over a four-plus minute span to tie the game at 112 with 1:38 to go, guard D’Angelo Russell responded with a driving layup to give the Lakers back the lead. Then on the Warriors’ ensuing possession, Davis blocked a short Cu...

Leeds hires Sam Allardyce as manager after firing Gracia

Published Fri, 07 Feb 2025 22:44:17 GMT

LEEDS, England (AP) — Sam Allardyce made an unlikely return to the Premier League on Wednesday when the 68-year-old former England coach was hired by Leeds until the end of the season after the relegation-threatened club fired manager Javi Gracia.Allardyce’s last coaching role was at West Bromwich Albion for the second half of the 2020-21 season, when he failed in his short-term mission to keep the team in the Premier League. That hasn’t stopped Leeds from turning to Allardyce, previously regarded as a survival specialist, as the replacement for Gracia, who leaves after two months in the job and after winning only three of his 12 games in charge.Leeds lost five of its seven games in April and conceded 23 goals in that period — the most allowed in a single month in Premier League history. Gracia’s last game proved to be the 4-1 loss at Bournemouth on Sunday. The team is in fourth-to-last place in the standings, only out of the relegation zone on goal difference with four games remainin...
