DENVER (KDVR) -- Not all toys are created equal. Some can be downright dangerous for your kids. A Colorado public interest group demonstrates what could be deadly toys for your kids.If there really is a land of misfit toys, we would know how they got there.Danny Katz is the executive Director of COPIRG, the Colorado Public Interest Research Group. Every year, the group's "Trouble in Toyland report" rounds up toys that they say should not wind up under your tree."The vast majority of toys out there are safe. Food pantries are on a mission to feed hungry South Floridians. Now, one organization is leading the charge to put food on tables for families during the holidays.More than a million people in South Florida will not have enough to eat for Thanksgiving and one in nine don’t know where they will receive their next meal. “Food insecurity here in South Florida is really getting out of control,” said Paco Velez, CEO of Feeding South Florida. Valez said that for Thanksgiving, he hopes the organization will provide 7,000 families with meals.“It’s getting to where you need to make over $70,000 for a family of four just to live in South Florida, and families can’t put that kind of money together and are struggling to put food on the table,” he said.The organization’s warehouse in Pembroke Park holds 2.5 million pounds of food. Another Miami man was found guilty for his role in the Jan. 6 Insurrection.Gabriel Garcia was convicted of civil disorder and obstruction of an official government proceeding.He’s a former member of the extremist group the Proud Boys and once sat on the Miami-Dade Republican Executive Committee.Garcia got into confrontations with police officers during the capitol riots back in 2021 and helped others storm into the building. Authorities are investigating after a man was shot and killed at a warehouse in Tamarac. According to the Broward Sherri’s Office, the shooting occurred at 6501 Nob Hill Road, just before 2 p.m., Tuesday. Upon arrival, deputies quickly took the suspected shooter into custody. 7Skyforce hovered over the scene where employees of the business where the shooting took place left the area. Tamarac Fire Rescue rushed the man to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased. What led up to the shooting is under investigation. The area near the business has since been closed off. The Broward Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit is seeking help from the public in locating 14-year-old Angel Escamilla, who has been reported missing from Pompano Beach.According to detectives, Escamilla was last seen on Sunday, Nov. 19, around 11 p.m. near Dixie Highway and Atlantic Boulevard in Pompano Beach, riding a light blue beach cruiser bicycle.Escamilla is described as weighing approximately 130 pounds, standing 5 feet 5 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. The Biden administration has been providing Israel with the location of humanitarian groups in Gaza for weeks to prevent strikes against their facilities. But Israel has continued to hit such sites.The information included GPS coordinates of a number of medical facilities and information on movements of aid groups in Gaza to the Israeli government for at least a month, according to three people familiar with the communications. A 68-year-old man who was attacked by a pair of Pitbulls in Lynn says he does not want anything to happen to the dogs that mauled him and left him with extensive injuries.The victim, who wished to not give his name, spoke with 7NEWS from his hospital bed where he has been recovering ever since police say two Pitbulls attacked him on a bike path on Sunday, Nov. 12.“I got it good, they came after me,” he said over the phone. “The ear on the left side of my head is torn off.”The 68-year-old told 7NEWS he had been walking along The Northern Strand trail when he got up from petting other dogs and saw the Pitbulls about 25 feet away, charging at him.Photos provided to the news station showed the dogs’ teeth marks on the victim’s nose. The government dealt a massive blow to the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance as its founder, Changpeng Zhao, pleaded guilty to a felony charge Tuesday related to his failure to prevent money laundering on his platform.Binance also agreed to a roughly $4 billion settlement with the U.S. over violations of the Bank Secrecy Act and apparent violations of sanctions programs, including failure to put into place a suspicious transaction reporting programs.
