YEREVAN, Armenia (AP) — Azerbaijan withdrew from the European Weightlifting Championships on Saturday in the capital of Armenia a day after a man ran onto the stage at the competition’s opening ceremony, seized an Azerbaijan flag and set it on fire.Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Youth and Sports said the incident Friday night in Yerevan showed that “when such an atmosphere of hatred reigns in Armenia, security is not ensured, the normal participation of Azerbaijani athletes in competitions is impossible due to psychological pressure.”The ministry said the athletes and those accompanying them have left Armenia.Armenian officials said the man who seized the flag was an employee of Armenian public television who was invited to the opening ceremony. He was taken to a police station after the incident but freed without charges.Animosity between Armenia and Azerbaijan has risen in recent months with the blockade of the only road leading from Armenia to the ethnically Armenian region...All-Male Pas De Deux comes to Chicago, shines light on LGBTQ love

(Stacker) - The once white-hot housing market may finally be starting to cool, but it's not a buyers' market just yet.As mortgage rates and home prices remain high, potential homebuyers are deciding not to take the plunge, mostly due to a lack of affordability. But with the U.S. short about 6.5 million homes, according to one analysis, economists project that lack of supply will keep things mostly in sellers' favor until next year at least."Homebuyers should prepare for a buying environment that is more relaxed than years past but with different complications," said Nikolas Scoolis, manager of housing economics at Zonda, a real estate data firm. "Highly desirable properties, like those in good school districts or offering good value propositions, will still face stiff competition."Stacker cited data from Redfin and the U.S. Census Bureau to visualize and explain the shortage of U.S. homes for sale and what that means ahead of peak homebuying season.See ...How much does a wedding cost in your state?

Less than 46 hours after clinching their hard-earned playoff berth, the Timberwolves will take the floor in Denver for Game 1 of their NBA Western Conference first-round series against the top-seeded Nuggets.Game 1 of the best-of-seven-games series is Sunday night in Denver. That doesn’t leave much time for preparation and scouting. The good news, Timberwolves coach Chris Finch noted, is Minnesota’s staff started working on a Denver scout prior to beating the Thunder, just in case. The plan was to start imparting some of that knowledge to the team Saturday, hitting players with the highlights. But there will be no deep dives prior to the start of the series.“I don’t think we can overcomplicate things right now. We just have to be ready to go, get back physically,” Finch said. “One advantage of playing in these games, I think, is that you’re pretty battle-ready. So I think our competitive edge will be there, for sure.”Wolves guard Mike Conley noted h...Esperance man arrested following domestic incident

Michael Porter Jr. generally doesn’t need goading. The 6-foot-10 sniper has shot well over 40% from 3-point range every season he’s been healthy. This season, he set a career-high with 7.3 looks from outside per game. With 188 3-pointers made, Porter finished five shy of the franchise record. All of which made Wednesday’s scene, as the No. 1 seed Nuggets prepared for their first-round opponent, so odd.The Nuggets were finishing up practice, concluding with 3-point shooting contests, free-throw challenges and the like. Nuggets coach Michael Malone pulled Porter aside on the near side of the gym closest to reporters and rehashed a scene from practice. The team had designed a play for Porter, but when he came off a screen and had a window to shoot, Denver’s most reliable and dangerous deep threat hesitated.“Let it fly,” Malone told Porter multiple times, emphasizing the need to seize the looks generated out of Denver’s offense.
